This is a program about real dentistry for real people by a real dentist! Dr. Glazer will present a potpourri
of materials and techniques that will make your day at the office easier, more productive and fun! Designed for
doctors and staff, he will discuss what's tried and true, and what’s new. Topics may include:Composites,
Adhesives, Handpieces, Cements, Impression/Provisional Materials, Burs, Lasers,Curing Lights, Patient Communication Tools, Hygiene products.
Dr. Howard S. Glazer is a Fellow and Past President of the AGD and continues to be named as one of the
“Leading Clinicians in Continuing Education” by Dentistry Today. He Lectures and publishes internationally on the
subject of new materials, products and techniques. As a GP in Fort Lee, NJ, he can easily relate to the
myriad of choices we have in daily practice when it comes to materials. This program, designed for doctor and
staff, will identify the “must haves” for daily practice that will make you and your staff more productive.
Currently he publishes a bi-monthly column by the same title in Dental Economics Magazine. He maintains a general practice in Fort Lee, NJ.
When Duty Calls (3 Hours)
Deployment as a Forensic Odontologist is physical, emotionally and intellectually demanding. Dr.Sonkin has been
deployed by the Federal Government (DMORT) and privately through Kenyon. He will openly share with us the
similarities and stark differences in the missions of his deployments. Attendees will gain knowledge and insight
into the use of forensic odontology and the various hurdles one must overcome. Dr. Sonkin will further discuss
duration of deployment, means of identification,and levels of training, staffing, resources and
camaraderie. Both the seasoned veteran and theneophyte to forensic odontology will learn from this presentation so
that they better understand the role of the forensic dentist during deployment in a mass fatality incident.
Dr. Roy H. Sonkin is the Deputy Commander of DMORT Region 2, and was deployed to the World Trade Center disaster and
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in both Louisiana and Mississippi. Presently he is the Deputy Chief Forensic
Odontologist for the Office of Chief Medical Examiner – City of New York, and the Assistant Director
of NYC’s Medical Examiner’s Special Operations Response Team (MESORT).
He has served as Tour Commander for WTC and American Airlines Flight 587 disasters. Dr. Sonkin maintains a general practice in Elmont, New York.
