This morning we discover the complex history of Avignon before heading to the one of the most recognized wine regions in the world, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, for a taste of what makes this wine so special.

Time to explore Nice on your own. Stroll from the hotel to the famous open-air food and flower market on the Cours Saleya. Wander through the market and the streets of the old town, a maze of food specialty shops and boutiques, stop to sample local specialties such as chick-pea socca, savoury pissaladière and hearty pan bagnat; be sure to save room for a refreshing gelato at the renowned glacier, Fenocchio. Nice is also home to the Musée Marc Chagall and the Musée Matisse.

Late afternoon, we transfer to Cannes for a walk along the glamorous La Croisette and an opportunity to see the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, home to the famous Cannes Film Festival.

Fri. May 30th Les Trois Corniches

Spend the day discovering the quintessential French Riviera, following the famous Trois Corniches coastal road between Villefranche-sur-Mer and Monte Carlo. Explore the charming fishing village of Villefranche, with its fishermen’s chapel decorated by Jean Cocteau. Step back in time to discover the ancient history of the region at La Turbie, taking in the breathtaking Mediterranean sea views. In the perched artists’ village of Èze, renowned for its perfume factories and botanical cactus garden, take time for a self-guided stroll, then relax over lunch at Les Remparts, the sea-facing terrace restaurant in the famous Chèvre d'Or. After lunch,
experience the royal grandeur of Le Rocher, the Rock of Monaco, home to the Prince’s Palace, Cathedral, and Oceanographic Museum, then cross the port to taste the glamorous side of the city, famous for its Casino de Monte-Carlo and exclusive designer boutiques.

explore narrow streets populated by artisans, craftsmen, and vendors selling local products. Complete your day with a drive through the spectacular Loup Canyon and a visit to Gourdon.
